Jordan’s Tourism Board continued to make significant strides in 2024, strengthening the country’s position as a global travel destination amid expectations of further tourism growth. These advancements align with the directives of King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein, alongside government support for this vital sector.
The board achieved a breakthrough in tourism through innovative marketing campaigns, international awards, strengthened global partnerships, and support for domestic tourism, leading to record-breaking performance both locally and internationally.
Among its key successes, the board won the “Best Digital Campaign” award for its “Kingdom of Time” initiative, which highlighted Jordan’s unique heritage and tourist sites, attracting global attention. Additionally, the board’s director general, Dr. Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat, was awarded King Abdullah II’s Medal of Excellence for his contributions to the tourism sector’s development and Jordan’s global standing.
In a testament to Jordan’s growing influence in global tourism, Dr. Arabiyat was elected Chairman of the Affiliate Members Committee at the UN Tourism Organization, further solidifying Jordan’s role in shaping sustainable tourism worldwide. He was also recognized among the top 100 tourism leaders in the Middle East by Forbes Middle East, reinforcing Jordan’s impact on regional and international tourism policies.
Throughout 2024, the board launched innovative marketing campaigns targeting key global markets and diversified Jordan’s tourism offerings, including cultural, adventure, medical, conference, and Christian religious tourism. The Baptism Site gained significant global attention, drawing high-profile visits.
The board also strengthened Jordan’s presence on the international stage through agreements with global companies and by hosting major conferences.
Guided by the Economic Modernization Vision and the 2021-2025 National Tourism Strategy, the board continues to foster public-private partnerships, support local communities, and drive digital marketing efforts to ensure sustainable tourism growth and reinforce the sector as a key driver of Jordan’s economy.
