Real Madrid won the Club World Cup for the fifth time in its history, at the expense of Al Hilal Saudi Arabia.
Real Madrid defeated Al-Hilal 5-3, during the match that brought them together, on Saturday, at Prince Moulay Abdullah Stadium, in the 2022 Club World Cup final.
Real Madrid started the match strong, scoring two goals through Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde in the 13th and 18th minutes of the match.
Al-Hilal tried to return when Malian Musa Mariga scored the goal to reduce the difference in the 26th minute, to end the first half with Real Madrid advancing 2-1.
As the royal team started the match, the second half started and scored two consecutive goals through Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde in the 54th and 58th minutes of the match.
Al-Hilal returned again, scoring the second goal through Luciano Vietto in the 63rd minute, but Vinicius Junior scored the fifth goal for the royal team in the 69th minute.
Louis Vietto returned to score his second goal and the third for Al-Hilal team in the 79th minute of the match, but that was not enough to win the title from the royal team.
Thus, Real Madrid will be crowned the Club World Cup champion for the fifth time in its history, and it is the most crowned title in history, two titles behind its arch-rivals Barcelona.
On the other hand, Al-Hilal won the first medal in its history in the Club World Cup, after finishing its two previous participations in the tournament in fourth place.
Al-Zaeem became the third Arab team to win the silver medal in the Club World Cup, after Moroccan Raja in 2013 and Al-Ain in 2018.
Real Madrid will receive $ 5 million for winning the Club World Cup, compared to $ 4 million after finishing second.
