Hamas said Thursday that former U.S. President Donald Trump's threats support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in evading the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Al-Qanou accused Trump of enabling Netanyahu to tighten the blockade and worsen conditions for Palestinians. He stressed that the only way to secure the release of remaining Israeli captives is for Israel to commit to the second phase of negotiations under mediator-backed agreements.

Trump had demanded Hamas release all captives immediately, including returning the remains of the dead, warning, "Otherwise, it’s over for you." (Reuters)
