Ukraine is larger than Jordan in terms of land, resources, power, and influence. Yet its president fell into the American trap, and they dared to challenge him. Before that, Trump challenged Macron when he spoke about the French language and even confronted the British prime minister, asking him, "Can you face Russia alone?"
But the only leader Trump never dared to challenge or step outside diplomatic norms with was King Abdullah. Why?
1. Experience – He is the longest-serving leader in the region.
2. Intelligence – King Abdullah grasped the situation quickly, recognized the trap, and navigated his way out.
3. Military Background – A history that instills discipline and caution.
Neither the Arab nor local media ever picked up on this. And we never asked ourselves: why didn’t Trump’s administration dare challenge us the way it did with global powers like France and Britain?
Jordan is a small country with limited resources, but its strength lies in its leadership—sharp, solid, and fierce, like its mountains. Yet, in July, when the soft summer breeze brushes against those mountains, it is gentler on the cheek than a mother cradling her child.
This is another secret of Jordan—its tender homeland and compassionate leadership.
