Representing Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Minister of Youth Engineer Yazan Al-Shdeifat inaugurated the 2025 Ramadan Youth Futsal Championship on Saturday at Al Hussein Youth City. The event was attended by Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry Dr. Yassin Al-Hleil, Al Hussein Youth City Director Bassam Al-Khalayleh, Amman Youth Director Anas Al-Qudah, along with ministry officials, club presidents, and members of the local community.
Al-Shdeifat stated that the tournament is part of the Ramadan Activities 2025 initiative, aimed at engaging youth during the holy month, enhancing their physical fitness, promoting sports culture, fostering competition, and providing opportunities for social interaction through sports.
He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to preparing stadiums, providing referees and administrative staff, and ensuring the tournament’s success.
The championship, running until March 22, includes 228 matches held at youth centers, clubs, and sports halls, featuring 240 teams and 2,880 players, coaches, and administrators from across the country.
The final stage of the tournament will take place from March 20–22 at the governorate level.
In addition to futsal, the championship is accompanied by basketball, table tennis, and chess tournaments organized by youth directorates and centers throughout the month.
The opening ceremony featured a poetry segment and a traditional folklore performance by the Shabat Al-Salt troupe.
