Israeli Occupation Energy Minister Eli Cohen announced on Sunday that he had ordered a halt to electricity supplies to Gaza. This decision comes a week after Israel barred humanitarian aid from entering the devastated enclave.

In a video statement, Cohen said, "I have just signed an order to immediately stop supplying electricity to the Gaza Strip." He added, "We will use all available means to retrieve the hostages and ensure that Hamas does not exist in Gaza the day after" the war.
