An Israeli delegation is heading to Doha on Monday for a new round of talks on the future of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. This comes a day after Israeli authorities announced cutting electricity supplies to the devastated enclave in an effort to increase pressure on Hamas.

The agreement, brokered by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, was implemented on January 19, 15 months after the war began. The first phase of the agreement lasted six weeks, and as it concluded in early March, Israel expressed its desire to extend it until mid-April based on a U.S. proposal.

Meanwhile, Hamas is demanding the start of negotiations for the second phase, which is expected to bring a definitive end to the war.

Mediating countries continue efforts to resolve differences between the two sides, especially after Israel suspended the entry of aid into the besieged territory at the beginning of the month.
