Amman, March 10, 2025 – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the Israeli Ministry of Energy’s decision to cut electricity supply to the Gaza Strip, calling it a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 on the protection of civilians during wartime.

Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah stated that the Israeli government’s move represents a continuation of its policy of blockade and starvation against Palestinians. He emphasized that the ongoing prevention of humanitarian aid entry into Gaza is a direct violation of the ceasefire agreement and poses a serious threat to stability in the region.

Qudah urged the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by ensuring Israel complies with the ceasefire agreement, restores electricity to Gaza, and reopens border crossings for humanitarian aid. He warned that Gaza is facing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
