Amman – Muhammad Nabil
MP Qasem Al-Qubai commented on the circulating news about a fight between him and MP Mohammad Al-Jarrah, confirming that he was subjected to a sudden attack inside the House of Representatives.
In an interview with "Rum," Qubai explained that he was heading to his office, carrying documents and files in both hands. As he reached the door, someone opened it for him. However, upon entering, he was shocked when MP Jarrah rushed in from behind and struck him on the head using both hands.
He added that, due to his hands being occupied, he was unable to defend himself initially, allowing Jarrah to land two blows before he managed to free his hands. The altercation was then broken up by those present.
Qubai emphasized that the incident was fully captured by office cameras and that there had been no prior conversation between him and Jarrah before the attack.
He stated that he had filed an official complaint with the Speaker of Parliament and obtained a medical report. He also plans to file a formal complaint with the Attorney General to pursue legal action.
Qubai further pointed out that the Labor Party had issued a statement the previous day explaining the reasons behind Jarrah’s expulsion. The statement included his biography, outlining multiple factors that led to the party's decision. He believes Jarrah's attack was a reaction to having his true nature exposed.
