Orange Jordan, in the presence of Samira Zoubi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, representing Minister Eng. Sami Smeirat, celebrated the graduation of the fifth cohort from its Coding Academy in Amman. This cohort is the first under the Digital Skills & Employment Grant Program, funded by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship as part of the Youth, Technology, and Jobs Project, implemented by DigiSkills Association. The program aims to equip young Jordanian talent with advanced digital skills for the job market.
During the ceremony, 51 students specializing in software development graduated. The five-month program, conducted by Orange’s Coding Academy under the Orange Digital Centers umbrella, included 640 hours of intensive training, with 100 hours dedicated to advanced employability skills and English language development. The training covered key programming languages and web development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, ReactJS, and Laravel.
In the fifth month, participants underwent practical training at specialized IT companies and other sectors, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world work environments. This experience enhanced their digital skills, increased job readiness, and boosted employment opportunities, leading to a 100% graduation rate.
Approximately 40% of graduates secured jobs before completing the program, with expectations that this figure will reach 85% in the coming months. Some graduates are also considering entrepreneurial ventures.
The graduation event was attended by prominent figures from both public and private sectors, along with representatives from leading tech companies in Jordan.
