Hamas announced that its government leader in Gaza, Issam Al-Da’alis, was killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes early Tuesday. The attack also claimed the lives of Major General Mahmoud Abu Wafah, Deputy Minister of Interior; Major General Bahjat Abu Sultan, Director General of Internal Security; and Ahmad Al-Hatta, Deputy Minister of Justice.

Hamas stated that the leaders were directly targeted along with their families. Meanwhile, an Israeli military official confirmed the strikes, describing the targets as mid-level and senior Hamas leaders.
