The world today is witnessing radical transformations in the political and economic landscape, as major events unfold rapidly, leaving profound impacts on the international stage. From wars and conflicts to shifting alliances and natural disasters, the world seems to stand at a historic crossroads. In this panorama, we will review the most prominent events shaping the current global reality, with a focus on key political and economic issues.

(1) Yemen and Gaza: Ongoing Conflicts and New Balances
American attacks on Yemen have continued, targeting cities and residential areas, while Yemeni forces have retaliated by targeting the American aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman with ballistic missiles and drones. In Gaza, Israeli airstrikes persisted on the second day of the war, resulting in numerous casualties, particularly among women and children. Despite this, the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples have shown remarkable resilience in the face of aggression.

On the international front, major cities across Europe, America, and the Arab world have witnessed massive demonstrations in support of Gaza and against the war. Calls from Western governments for a ceasefire have also emerged, reflecting the failure of the American-Israeli alliance to garner international support for their war, both diplomatically and in the media.

(2) The Zionist Entity, Syria, and Lebanon: Intertwined Interests and Conflicts
Israel finds itself in a complex position regarding Syria and Lebanon. On one hand, Israel bombards sites near the Syrian border to destroy weapons, while on the other, it intervenes to strike Hezbollah movements along the Syrian-Lebanese border. Israel appears to adopt conflicting stances toward the new Syrian government under President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, cooperating with it in confronting Hezbollah but becoming an adversary in other areas.

There seems to be a temporary convergence of interests between Israel and the Syrian administration in limiting Hezbollah’s influence, particularly concerning the smuggling of weapons and drugs through Syrian territory. However, these understandings turn into hostility in other regions, as Israel seeks to strike Hezbollah and prevent it from obtaining weapons from Iran, while Damascus accuses the group of attempting to destabilize the country with Tehran’s support. This conflict reflects the complexity of the political and military landscape in the region, where the interests of rival parties intersect according to on-the-ground developments.

(3) Trump, Iran, and Iraq: Nuclear Conflicts and Regional Influence
A. Trump and Iran
Despite Tehran’s refusal to negotiate with the Trump administration, the American president’s message to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei sparked widespread reactions. Trump emphasized that there are two ways to deal with Iran: militarily or through an agreement that prevents it from acquiring nuclear weapons. For his part, Khamenei rejected negotiating under pressure, considering the American offer an attempt to impose Washington’s desires rather than resolve outstanding issues.

B. Trump and Iraq: Are We Witnessing a New Invasion?
Regarding Iraq, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with previous American policies that "left Iraq alone" and allowed Iran to fill the void. Trump believes that the United States made a grave mistake by not controlling Iraqi oil, which he sees as the key to dominating the region. He also hinted at the possibility of taking military action in Iraq if necessary, without revealing further details.

(4) Conclusion: A World on the Brink
International relations are undergoing significant shifts, especially with escalating tensions between major powers such as the United States, Iran, and Russia. The understandings between Trump and Putin could form the nucleus of new alliances that may reshape the global order. At the same time, issues like Iraqi oil and the Middle East conflict are emerging as key tools in the struggle for regional influence.

On the other hand, Trump is demanding that Iraq repay trillions of dollars spent by the United States during its occupation of the country, further complicating bilateral relations. These demands could lead to additional tensions in the region, especially with Iran’s active regional presence.

The Chinese Role: Amid U.S.-Iran tensions, China is emerging as a rising power seeking to balance global forces. China, which has strong economic and political ties with Iran, could play a pivotal role in easing tensions or even reshaping regional alliances. China could act as a mediator in any future negotiations between Washington and Tehran, especially given its growing economic and military influence in the region.

The Russian Role: Russia’s role in the Middle East, particularly in Syria and Lebanon, cannot be overlooked. Russia, which supports the Syrian regime, is also seeking to enhance its influence in Lebanon through its relations with Hezbollah. This growing Russian role could significantly impact regional alliances, especially with the convergence of Russian-Iranian interests in countering American influence.

Given these developments, the world appears to be entering a new phase of conflicts and alliances, where international balances are being redrawn according to the interests of major powers, while regional crises persist and could escalate into broader confrontations at any moment.
