The Jordanian national football team will face South Korea on Tuesday at Suwon World Cup Stadium in the third and final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The team, known as "Al-Nashama," completed their final preparations on Monday evening at the match venue, with head coach Jamal Salami focusing on technical aspects and final adjustments.
During the pre-match press conference, Salami emphasized that this match differs significantly from previous encounters. "We are up against a strong team with vast experience, despite some absences. However, I have great confidence in my players to put on a solid performance and achieve a positive result in this crucial step toward the World Cup," he stated.
He also noted that this match is different from their previous game against Palestine in Amman, considering the time gap and long travel distance. He added that the medical staff is closely monitoring the players, as Suwon’s air quality could directly impact their fitness.
Defender Yazan Al-Arab acknowledged the difficulty and importance of the match for both teams, stressing that securing the three points is vital for reaching the top of the group.
The pre-match technical meeting reviewed administrative and organizational guidelines, confirming Jordan will wear white, while South Korea will be in red.
Jordan is currently in second place in Group B with 12 points, tied with Iraq but trailing on goal difference. South Korea leads with 15 points, followed by Oman (7), Kuwait (5), and Palestine (3).
According to the qualification system, the top two teams from each of the three groups will qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup, while the third- and fourth-placed teams will enter a fourth qualifying round.
