Amman – The Jordan Tourism Board, in collaboration with the Jordanian Embassy in London, organized a series of workshops in London and Cambridge from March 14 to 16 to promote Jordan as a premier destination for educational tourism and Arabic language studies.
Dr. Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat, Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, highlighted that these events align with the board’s strategy to establish Jordan as a key hub for educational tourism. He emphasized the country's unique offerings, making it an ideal choice for students interested in learning Arabic while immersing themselves in a rich cultural environment.
Arabiyat noted that the workshops received positive engagement from British universities and educational institutions, showcasing Jordan’s academic programs alongside its cultural and tourism opportunities. He affirmed that the board will continue its efforts by organizing more promotional events and forging partnerships with international educational entities.
Jordanian Ambassador to the UK, Manar Dabbas, delivered the keynote speech at the first Ramadan event, held at the Victoria and Albert Museum on Friday, March 14 (14 Ramadan). He stressed that Jordan welcomes students and researchers not just as visitors but as part of its extended family.
Dabbas invited attendees to visit Jordan for an enriching learning experience, noting that Ramadan is a time to celebrate community bonds and shared wisdom. He described Jordan as a land of history, faith, and knowledge, offering an immersive educational experience that combines Arabic language mastery with exploration of ancient civilizations.
He also highlighted Jordan’s historical and religious landmarks, such as Mount Nebo, the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, Petra, and Jerash, as testaments to the country’s deep cultural and academic heritage, making it an ideal destination for students and scholars worldwide.
The second Ramadan event took place on Sunday, March 16 (16 Ramadan) at Wimbledon AFC Stadium, where the Jordan Tourism Board distributed informational brochures to hundreds of attendees.
Both events aimed to strengthen Jordan’s presence in the UK market as an attractive destination for students and researchers seeking academic excellence and cultural immersion.
