Is This a Mystery or a Spell That Has Struck the Arabs?
By Mohammad al-Sobouhi
Amman — No one can explain the Arabs’ persistent silence in the face of the Israeli leaders’ rampage and actions in Gaza and the West Bank. The Arabs are unable to deliver even bread or medicine without Netanyahu’s approval, while they watch occupation bulldozers flatten homes and streets, demolish hospitals, and displace civilians from fire to fire and from destruction to destruction — and still they call on the international community to stop Zionist crimes.
Arabs watch the execution of ambulance and civil defense crews in Gaza and remain silent. They see the scattered remains of infants and still manage to sleep soundly after a hearty dinner. Are we truly human, or merely animated plastic dolls?
The Arabs know full well that the so-called international community is essentially the U.S. and the pro-occupation bloc — and that its interventions consist of supplying Israel with weapons and shielding it from international law and the United Nations.
Arabs reiterate their support for the two-state solution every day, while Israelis openly reject it as fantasy. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is gradually backing away from the idea of two states and shifting toward supporting the annexation of the West Bank and parts of Syria into the "poor, little" state of Israel.
Hundreds of millions of Arabs are pleading for protection from seven million occupiers who wreak havoc in Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, and Lebanon. Is this a riddle, or a spell that has bewitched Arabs from young to old?
The millions we’ve seen gathering in the streets of Algeria, Morocco, and other Arab countries — if given the chance to march to Palestine — would bring the U.S. and Israel to their knees at the very first step, seeking a peaceful solution.
Never in history have the Arabs been so disgracefully silent in the face of such atrocities. And never, since the dawn of creation, have seven million outcasts ruled the fate of 300 million Arabs.
Woe to the Arabs — the reckoning draws near. A reckoning on earth, and a reckoning in the heavens.
So again, the question remains: Is this a riddle, or a spell that has struck the Arabs from young to old?
