Late today, Tuesday, the UN Security Council will hold a closed consultation session, at an Emirati-Arab request, on the situation in the occupied West Bank.
The Security Council session will be held at 11 pm Jordan time and will be closed.
The UN Security Council held 12 sessions last year, one session every month, without issuing any single decision, but the meetings increased this year due to the deterioration of the situation, to reach 5 meetings within two months, between public, periodic, and closed consultations.
Last week, the Council issued a presidential statement, the first in several years, regarding settlements. It also held an open emergency session last month, after an extremist Israeli minister stormed the Temple Mount.
The members are scheduled to listen to a briefing from the Coordinator for Peace in the Middle East, Tor Winnisland, about the settler attack on the town of Huwwara in occupied Nablus and the burning of Palestinian property with the encouragement of the minister who stormed Al-Quds Al-Sharif last month.
