Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met today, Wednesday, with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during a brief visit to Rome.

The cordial meeting, held at Villa Doria Pamphili in Rome, focused on the current humanitarian situation in Gaza. Her Majesty highlighted the severe shortages of food, medical supplies, and basic necessities following the suspension of humanitarian aid access to the region.

Queen Rania expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister for Italy’s humanitarian support and aid provided to the people of Gaza. She also emphasized the tragedy facing orphaned children in Gaza, noting that over 39,000 children and infants have lost one or both of their parents.

During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed the strong ties between the two countries. They also discussed the importance of projects supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, particularly in education, family protection, and child welfare in Jordan.
