Amman — A Jordanian economic delegation will begin a visit to Spain next Monday with the goal of strengthening economic cooperation and expanding joint efforts between the private sectors in Jordan and Spain across several strategic sectors.
The 3-day visit is organized by the Jordanian-European Business Association (JEBA) in cooperation with the Chambers of Commerce of Spain and Madrid, and with support from the Spanish Embassy in Jordan.
The delegation includes representatives from leading Jordanian companies operating in key sectors such as tourism, healthcare, renewable energy, environmental and water technologies, food industries, agriculture, and mining.
Headed by JEBA President Ali Murad, the delegation aims to boost Jordan-Spain economic collaboration through bilateral meetings and specialized events at the Madrid Chamber of Commerce. The goal is to build new networks and explore potential partnerships in priority areas.
According to a statement from JEBA on Saturday, Murad emphasized that the visit is a practical step toward increasing Jordan’s economic openness to European markets. He noted that Spain is an important gateway to the European market, and that cooperation at this stage offers significant potential for the Jordanian private sector, especially in light of global trends toward green economies and innovation in agriculture and tourism.
Murad also mentioned that the program includes field visits and meetings with Spanish economic and commercial institutions to exchange expertise and learn from successful models across various fields. He stressed JEBA’s commitment to enabling Jordanian companies to access new markets and strengthen their competitiveness internationally.
JEBA’s Director General, Hossam Saleh, affirmed that the association aims to promote promising investment opportunities in Jordan through this visit, highlighting Jordan’s stable business environment, strategic location, and favorable legislation and incentives that make it a reliable partner for European investors.
Saleh added that the visit aligns with JEBA’s vision of positioning Jordan as a regional hub for business and investment. It also aims to help Jordan benefit from its partnership agreements with the EU, facilitate trade exchanges, and increase Jordanian exports.
It is worth noting that Jordan’s national exports to Spain totaled 38 million dinars last year, while imports from Spain reached 238 million dinars, according to foreign trade statistics from the Department of Statistics.
Founded in 1995, JEBA is a non-profit organization comprising a wide range of Jordanian businesspeople and economists. Its goal is to strengthen economic cooperation between Jordan and European countries.
