Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak renewed his fierce criticism of PM Benjamin Netanyahu, blaming him for what he called the army's mounting losses in Gaza and Israel’s mismanagement of the war. In an interview with Israeli public radio, Barak warned that the country is on the brink of disaster and called for civil disobedience to remove Netanyahu from office.

He accused Netanyahu of “mixing the cards” and trying to evade an official inquiry that was supposed to take place after the war ends.

Barak warned that Israel's “democracy and international standing” are in jeopardy, squarely placing responsibility for the ongoing crisis on Netanyahu.

Palestinian platforms shared translated Israeli reports quoting Barak’s comment on a Hamas video showing Israeli captive Maxim Herkin, in which he said: “If I were in power, I would have pursued a deal immediately—even at the cost of ending the war.”
