A Hamas delegation held talks on Wednesday and Thursday in Doha with Egyptian and Qatari mediators on reaching a truce in Gaza, but the discussions made no progress, two sources close to the group told AFP on Friday.

One of the sources said Egyptian officials in charge of the negotiations met twice with a Hamas leadership delegation headed by Khalil al-Hayya, with Qatari officials also attending both meetings. The second source said the talks in Doha were serious but yielded no tangible results.
