Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC) and Zain Jordan have launched a major transformation project aimed at upgrading the telecom provider’s business support systems (BSS) to enhance digital services, customer experience, and operational flexibility.

As part of Zain Jordan’s ongoing modernisation efforts, the project will shift its integrated BSS architecture to a cloud-native model. This strategic move is expected to foster innovation, improve cost-efficiency, and accelerate the company’s digital transformation journey.

Building on a decade-long partnership, Ericsson will expand and upgrade Zain Jordan’s existing Ericsson Charging system to the latest cloud-native software, incorporating new capabilities that support a catalog-driven business model. This will allow for a more seamless and personalised experience for prepaid users.

The transformation will shorten time-to-market, boost service agility, and open monetisation opportunities in 5G, aligning with Jordan’s ambitions in the digital economy.

Zain Jordan’s Chief Technology and Digital Innovation Officer, Wissam Abu Heshesh, said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to delivering innovative services and improving customer experience. Kevin Murphy, VP and Head of Ericsson North East Middle East and Africa, noted that the project will simplify operations and unlock new digital opportunities in Jordan’s evolving telecom market.
