Final stage of the IEEE Jordan AI Modeling Hackathon 1.0 launched at Amman Ahliyya University with broad participation from Jordanian universities. The event is held in collaboration with IEEE Jordan.
University president Prof. Sari Hamdan inaugurated the event, attended by IEEE Jordan Chair Dr. Mousa Al-Akhras, Dean of Engineering and Technical Education Prof. Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Dean of IT Prof. Mohammad Al-Qatawneh, and several faculty members from participating universities.
Prof. Al-Tarawneh welcomed attendees and stressed the hackathon’s role in sharpening students’ AI and computational modelling skills, commending IEEE’s support for student activities that foster innovation and technical talent.
He noted the competition provides a platform for knowledge exchange and positive, team-based competition across universities.
Dr. Al-Akhras praised the high calibre of participating students and highlighted the marked improvement in the quality of this year’s submissions, reflecting the rapid AI advancement in Jordan’s universities.
Prof. Hamdan expressed pride in hosting the event and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to initiatives that build student capabilities in cutting-edge technologies.
