Zain Omantel International (ZOI) has won four prestigious global awards in wholesale telecommunications for 2025, in recognition of its growing role as a major regional and international connectivity hub. The Global Carrier Community honoured ZOI for its unique operational model that integrates terrestrial and subsea infrastructure across eight markets in the region.

The awards included:

Best Data Connectivity Innovative Provider of the Year, recognising ZOI’s comprehensive regional connectivity solutions via integrated subsea and terrestrial cable systems and high-capacity offerings for hyperscalers and telecom operators.

Best Subsea Cable Operator of the Year, awarded for ZOI’s strategic marine investments including its participation in the G2A, AAE-1, and Oman Australia Cable projects.

Middle East Regional Connectivity Operator of the Year, acknowledging ZOI’s fully owned fibre network in the Middle East, linking the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Red Sea across strategic markets.

Best New Telecom Connectivity Brand – Middle East, awarded by the UK-based Global Brands Magazine, which has over 8 million annual readers and celebrates excellence in branding, leadership, and innovation worldwide.


These honours reflect ZOI’s achievements in strengthening the region’s position as a global digital hub that enables enterprise expansion and innovation.

The Global Carrier Awards are among the industry's most respected, celebrating exceptional performance in wholesale telecom. Winners are selected by a panel of experts from over 100 international telecom companies, based on innovation, scalability, and connectivity solutions.

Since launching in 2023, ZOI has leveraged the regional presence and digital leadership of Zain, along with the global infrastructure of Omantel. It now integrates over 20 international subsea cable systems with extensive terrestrial coverage.
