The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Orange Jordan, held the fourth session of the Tech Women Inclusivity Network (TECH WIN) under the title:
“Inclusion and Effective Communication with Persons with Disabilities in the ICT Sector.”
The session took place at Orange’s Digital Innovation Hub and brought together around 40 participants, including ICT company representatives, stakeholders, and persons with disabilities.
Part of the Youth, Technology, and Jobs (YTJ) project and in collaboration with the ministry’s Inclusion Unit, the event provided a comprehensive training programme focused on building inclusive workplaces and promoting meaningful engagement with persons with disabilities in the ICT sector.
Opening remarks were delivered by representatives from the organising bodies, who praised the public-private collaboration — including the Higher Council — in creating a more inclusive and entrepreneurial tech environment for all segments of society.
A panel discussion led by experts explored ways to develop a more enabling and inclusive work environment. Orange Jordan reaffirmed its commitment to diversity and inclusion, highlighting success stories of employees with disabilities and showcasing best practices in assistive technology use.
By hosting the session, Orange Jordan reinforced its dedication to inclusive employment through training initiatives that address the needs of all community segments, guided by clear policies aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Rowan Barakat, Chair of the Women’s Committee at the Higher Council, noted that the initiative directly supports the Council’s aim to empower persons with disabilities — particularly women — through economic inclusion in company policies and training plans.
The session also introduced new technical toolkits for accessibility, a tailored training programme for inclusive workplaces, and a survey to assess challenges and needs of persons with disabilities in tech environments
