The Jordanian Armed Forces thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics via drone early Thursday on the western front of the Southern Military Region.

A military source stated that Border Guard units, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, intercepted a drone attempting to cross into Jordanian territory.

After detecting and tracking the drone, rules of engagement were applied, resulting in it being shot down inside Jordanian territory. The confiscated substances were handed over to the relevant authorities.
