Wage Authority Unit at Ministry of Labour receives 120 labour complaints in first half of 2025, 97 of which resolved during same period, according to ministry spokesperson Mohammad Al-Zyoud.

He adds the unit also resolved 12 cases filed in 2024 and one from 2023.

Established under Article 54 of the 1996 Labour Law, the Wage Authority handles wage-related disputes within Amman. The minister may assign qualified experts to act as Wage Authority in specific regions.

Al-Zyoud explains the authority addresses issues such as unpaid wages, unlawful deductions, delayed payments, unpaid overtime, and wage discrimination. Cases are processed urgently, and workers can file claims while employed or within 6 months of leaving, if they ended the contract themselves.
