Eastern Military Zone thwarts drug smuggling attempt early Sunday involving remotely guided balloons, according to a Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army source.

Border Guards, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, intercepted and downed a group of balloons spotted within the zone’s area of responsibility. The balloons, found carrying narcotics and equipped with remote control devices, were seized and referred to relevant authorities.

The source affirms the army’s high readiness to counter all infiltration and smuggling methods, stressing that Border Guards remain vigilant against any threats to national security.
