FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the success of the Club World Cup hosted by the United States, which concludes today, Sunday, with the final between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

He acknowledged the tournament faced criticism, particularly regarding extreme heat and low attendance in some matches, with several stadiums only half full.

Infantino said he preferred hosting matches in larger stadiums even if they weren't packed, and suggested prioritising roofed venues for daytime matches during next year’s World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Speaking at a media event held Saturday at Trump Tower in New York, Infantino stated:
“Of course, all criticism is something we study and analyse to see what we can improve.”

He added: “High temperatures are certainly an issue — they’re a problem worldwide. We also have covered stadiums, so we will definitely increase their use for daytime matches.”

Infantino also dismissed claims that fans and especially European clubs were strongly opposed to the tournament, calling such claims unfounded.
