UNRWA on Monday renewed its call to lift the Israeli blockade on Gaza to end the ongoing famine in the Strip.

In a post on X, the UN agency said:
“We are receiving desperate messages about famine from Gaza, including from our own staff.”

It reported a fortyfold increase in food prices, pointing to the consequences of the ongoing blockade.

“Meanwhile, on Gaza’s doorstep, UNRWA has enough stockpiled food in its warehouses to meet the needs of all residents for over 3 months,” it added.

“Lift the blockade. Allow safe and large-scale aid entry,” the agency urged.
