Qatar’s bid to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games is a natural extension of its diplomatic vision and a genuine call for unity in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect, says Qatari ambassador to Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah.

Speaking to the press, Al-Attiyah highlighted Qatar’s high readiness and proven track record in hosting global sporting events, including the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the 2019 World Athletics Championships, and the 2006 Asian Games.

He described the formation of Qatar’s Olympic bid committee as a major step in both sporting and diplomatic excellence, underscoring the country’s ability to host the first Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Middle East and North Africa.

Al-Attiyah concluded by saying Qatar’s bid carries a message of peace and solidarity, reflecting international confidence in the nation’s growing global role and continued success.
