Jerash, July 27, 2025: Zain Cash proudly sponsored the Olympic Day celebration held in Jerash governorate, as the Platinum Sponsor, in collaboration with Jordan Olympic Committee, the official umbrella for sports in Jordan.
Zain Cash’s sponsorship reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local sports sector and athletic events. This aligns with Zain Cash’s mission to contribute to the development of sports competencies and expertise in Jordan, and to promote awareness around physical and mental health, wellbeing, and the importance of regular physical activity. As part of this vision, Zain Cash has continuously supported various sports events in the Kingdom, including football and basketball leagues in schools, and a wide range of athletic activities and events.
This annual event commemorates the founding of the International Olympic Committee in 1894, which marked the beginning of the modern Olympic Games. The celebration kicked off from the historic Columns Street in the ancient city of Jerash, where the Olympic torch was ceremoniously lit by national taekwondo athletes Zaid Mustafa and Juliana Al-Sadeq. The event showcased several sports disciplines and witnessed the participation of renowned Jordanian athletes in a festive atmosphere that embodied the Olympic spirit and the role of sports in enhancing communities.
Coinciding with Olympic Day, the International Olympic Committee launched the Arabic version of its global campaign, “Yalla Netharak” (Let’s Move). This initiative aims to encourage individuals to adopt a more active lifestyle, emphasizing the positive effects of physical activity on both physical and mental health, and strengthening the role of sports in building more vibrant and cohesive communities.
Zain Cash continues to lead the digital financial services sector in Jordan, offering a wide range of financial solutions including its Sharia-compliant credit cards, available in three tiers: Classic, Platinum, and World, with no interest or fees. These cards, launched in collaboration with Mastercard, are designed to provide users with comprehensive financial solutions and greater control over their finances. Credit limits start from JOD 100 and go up to JOD 5,000, with no salary transfer or issuance fees required.
Zain Cash also offers a wide array of digital financial services, allowing users to perform various transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and purchases at different points of sale including shops and restaurants, as well as online shopping both locally and internationally. Zain Cash Mastercard is instantly issued to users upon opening their mobile wallet. Since its inception in 2011, Zain Cash has become a leading player in Jordan’s digital financial services and prepaid card sector and currently stands as the largest issuer of Mastercard cards in the country.
