Many people want to read WhatsApp messages secretly without knowing the sender, in order to give themselves time to respond to them or to know their content in order to respond to them at a later time.

Many WhatsApp users may not realize that they can read the entire messages without opening them, thus relieving some unnecessary pressure on them.

According to Android mobile management solution company AirDroid, first of all, you have to long-press on your home screen, and it brings up a menu page. Next, you should click on Tools, which in turn will display all available tools. Find the WhatsApp 4×1 widget and drag it to any of your homepages, long press on it once added to make it bigger. Of course, you have to be careful, as clicking on any chats will activate them and alert the senders.

Unfortunately, this trick is for Android users only. And although iPhone users can choose to disable reading WhatsApp receipts in the app itself, and prevent friends, family and co-workers from discovering those tags, this also means they won't be able to see when others have seen their messages in turn, according to the British Mirror.

And if you are an iPhone user and want to disable receipts, you have to click on "More Options" in WhatsApp, before clicking on "Settings". You should then head to Privacy, where you will be given the option to turn off read receipts.

Unfortunately, according to the WhatsApp website, this action will not disable read receipts for group chats nor will it turn on voice message receipts, as "there is no way to turn these settings off."
