The Down Syndrome Initiative with Us, Our Lives Have Meaning, and in coordination with the Wadi Abdoun Charity Association and the Mozn Al Ataa Association for People with Special Needs, held a party on the occasion of the International Day of Down Syndrome. It is a voluntary family initiative composed of groups of parents who have children with Down syndrome.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, in the presence of the Assistant Secretary-General for Financial, Administrative and Provincial Affairs, Mishaal Al-Shakhatra, the former Minister of Culture, Barakat Awajan, and a number of heads of associations and initiatives.
People with Down syndrome showed their abilities and skills in participating in the local community, stressing during the ceremony the rights of their children in all fields, as they do not want a pity view, but a human rights view that believes that they are an integral part of this community.
