Orange Jordan, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, has graduated the sixth cohort from its Coding Academy at the Orange Digital Centre in Amman. This marks the second group to complete the "Digital Skills Development and Employment" scholarship programme, funded by the ministry under the "Youth, Technology and Jobs" (YTJ) project, and implemented by the Digital Skills Association (Digiskills).
A total of 49 students – 33% of whom were women – completed the four-month programme, which included 640 hours of training in both technical and life skills to prepare them for the job market. With this batch, the total number of graduates in Amman has reached 100.
The programme achieved a 100% graduation rate with no dropouts, and nearly 50% of participants have already secured employment. Additionally, trainees contributed to 25 startup companies by developing websites as part of their practical training.
Secretary-General of the Ministry, Samira Al-Zoubi, said the ministry is proud to support the programme, which reflects its commitment to equipping Jordanian youth with digital skills that enable them to enter the job market confidently. She stressed that these initiatives offer real career paths, not just temporary training, as the ministry continues to work with partners to boost employment and entrepreneurship.
Amira Qerqesh, Director of Digital Learning and Skills at YTJ, said investing in youth is investing in Jordan’s future, adding that this programme is a successful example of public-private-civil collaboration to build a digitally empowered generation.
Orange Jordan’s Director of Corporate Communication and Sustainability, Eng. Rana Dababneh, expressed pride in the programme’s success and in its graduates, referring to them as “agents of change.” She said over 1,000 students have graduated from the Coding Academy since its launch, with over 80% securing jobs, a result of a training model that blends technical, language, life skills, and hands-on learning.
The graduation ceremony also featured the programme’s second specialised job fair, connecting graduates with companies seeking young, qualified talent—bridging training and employment in line with the programme’s core goals.
