A hot, dry air mass from the Arabian Peninsula begins affecting Jordan Friday, triggering a heatwave expected to last several days.

Temperatures will rise significantly, reaching 7–8°C above seasonal averages. Hot, dry weather will prevail in highlands, with extreme heat elsewhere. Winds will be moderate southeasterly, turning northwesterly by afternoon.

Nighttime lows will also increase, making for relatively hot nights across most areas, with high-altitude clouds and light northwesterly winds.
