Amman – The ongoing heatwave will continue to affect Jordan starting Saturday, bringing dry and hot conditions over high mountain areas and extremely hot weather in all other regions. Medium and high-altitude clouds are expected, with north-easterly to north-westerly winds occasionally picking up, causing dust—especially in desert areas.

The Jordan Meteorological Department warns against prolonged direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours, the possibility of reduced visibility due to dust in desert areas during the evening and night, and leaving children inside closed vehicles even for short periods. Citizens are also urged not to leave fire remnants or cigarette butts in forested areas, to drink plenty of fluids—especially water—and to avoid leaving flammable materials inside vehicles.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to range as follows:

East Amman: 43°C / 28°C

West Amman: 41°C / 26°C

Northern Highlands: 38°C / 27°C

Sharah Highlands: 39°C / 28°C

Desert Areas: 45°C / 30°C

Plains: 40°C / 26°C

Northern Jordan Valley: 44°C / 30°C

Southern Jordan Valley: 43°C / 34°C

Dead Sea: 44°C / 33°C

Aqaba: 44°C / 32°C

The hot and dry conditions will persist through Sunday and Monday, with hot weather over the highlands and extreme heat in other regions. Medium and high-altitude clouds will continue to appear, with a slight chance of light, brief local showers in parts of southern and eastern Jordan during the afternoon. Winds will remain north-easterly to north-westerly, moderate to active at times, raising dust in desert regions.
