The season has barely started, yet disputes over refereeing decisions have already ignited widespread anger among players, fans, and club officials. Calls are growing louder for the introduction of VAR technology in the Jordanian Pro League to minimize errors that could alter the course of championships and directly impact team results.

The second round of the league brought three controversial incidents that set the sports scene ablaze. It began with the Al-Ramtha vs. Shabab Al-Ordon clash, where an Al-Ramtha goal was disallowed for offside—a decision its players and fans insist was wrong. This was followed by Al-Faisaly’s winning goal against Al-Salt, which some argued should not have stood.

The most heated moment came when a potential penalty for Al-Salt in the same match was waved away, triggering a storm of criticism.

These events have left fans asking the burning question: “Where’s the VAR?”—especially after the Football Association had previously announced plans and proposals to implement the technology in the domestic league.
