Ma’an – The Ministry of Youth organized an orientation session today at the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Cultural Center in Ma’an Governorate for the third cycle of the Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteer Work. The event was attended by Minister of Youth and Vice Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees Dr. Raed Al-Adwan, Ma’an Governor Khaled Hajjaj, President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University Dr. Atef Al-Kharabsheh, security leaders, members of the executive council, directors of official departments, as well as volunteer leaders and youth initiatives.

Al-Adwan said the award reflects the vision of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II in fostering a culture of volunteerism among Jordanian youth and enhancing their developmental contributions for a sustainable positive impact on society. He emphasized that the award is not just about recognition, but also about highlighting inspiring models, promoting institutional and sustainable volunteer work, and encouraging the launch of developmental initiatives that serve communities, with participation from all sectors.

He noted that the ministry, in cooperation with partners, is developing evaluation tools to ensure fairness and transparency in judging, strengthening competitiveness, and building trust among participants. Registration is currently open, and ministry teams are ready to support and guide applicants. The award, launched by the Crown Prince on December 5, 2021, aims to institutionalize sustainable volunteer work.

Governor Hajjaj stressed that volunteer work is a cornerstone of community development, adding that belonging begins within close surroundings such as schools and homes. He said Ma’an seeks to be a model through supporting volunteer initiatives and active participation in them, pledging full support for the award and all constructive proposals.

The session included a detailed presentation by Ahmad Al-Jaradien, a core team member in the governorate, outlining the award’s objectives, mission, categories, criteria, evaluation mechanisms, and recognized volunteer fields. It concluded with an open discussion on coordinating volunteer efforts, sharing inspiring experiences, and promoting a culture of volunteerism among youth.
