And the incrimination decision stated that the convict works as an accountant in one of the oversight institutions, where he was collecting funds for the institution, but he was forging receipt vouchers between the years 2016-2022, and taking the difference in the amount for himself in a way that violates the law, and the value of the amount that he embezzled reached 83 thousand and 460 dinars and 600 fils.
The decision indicated that the convict informed his institution of his crime, confessed to an investigator and the Public Prosecutor of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, and submitted a request for a financial settlement.
The convict's defense attorney asked the court to exempt his client from the penalty, as he deeply regretted his action, confessed to what he had done, and returned what he took to the state treasury. Accordingly, the court decided to exempt him from the penalty, which means imprisonment for a period of 5 years, in addition to the financial fine imposed on him. The result of his action amounting to 83,460 dinars and 600 fils, and the decision will be subject to appeal before the competent court.
