Amman – Jordan Chamber of Commerce praised Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II’s announcement to reactivate the national service programme soon, highlighting its significant national, social and economic impact.
The chamber said the initiative is a strategic step to build a generation of Jordanian youth loyal to their country and equipped with the skills and discipline required by the modern labour market. It also plays a role in strengthening national identity and instilling values of belonging and active citizenship through the experience shared with the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army.
It noted that linking national service with vocational and technical training represents a genuine driver in empowering Jordanian youth and preparing them to enter the labour market efficiently. Investing in this stage to build youth skills and capacities will positively reflect on the national economy.
The chamber commended the Crown Prince’s vision in developing the programme with various partners and the participatory approach that lays the foundation for a sustainable programme aligned with current needs, enhancing employment opportunities for youth across governorates.
It affirmed the readiness of the trade and services sector to support the national initiative through cooperation in training and employment programmes, providing trainees with opportunities to gain practical experience in private sector institutions, in line with the Royal vision of youth empowerment and sustainable development.
