AMMAN – Foreign Ministry condemned Israel’s ongoing restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza, warning they have led to severe famine levels confirmed by a UN Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report, which upgraded Gaza to phase five, meaning famine.

Ministry spokesman Sufyan Qudah said the report reflects the catastrophic humanitarian situation caused by Israel’s systematic and inhumane policies, using starvation as a weapon against Palestinians.

Qudah urged the international community to act immediately to compel Israel to end its assault on Gaza, halt famine and humanitarian disaster, and allow sufficient, sustainable aid into the strip.
