His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, accompanied by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, visited the Royal Engineering Corps on Monday.
In presence of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, His Majesty listened to a briefing from the Corps’ director on achievements in general engineering support and clearance of unexploded ordnance.
The briefing covered handling of rocket and drone remnants and engineering support on border fronts.
The King toured an exhibition showcasing latest engineering vehicles, devices, and technical equipment, and viewed a model of newly developed defensive trenches to boost border guard units’ defence capabilities.
During the visit, the Supreme Commander inspected production lines at Al Yubail factory for defence supplies, specialised in barbed wire production for border protection. The factory supplies all Armed Forces units with defence and military equipment, and was established under supervision of the Military Housing and Works Directorate through the Arab International Construction and Contracting Company, owned by the Armed Forces, in line with international standards.
