Gold prices rose Friday, marking their strongest weekly performance in three months amid growing expectations of a US interest rate cut this month.

Spot gold added 0.1% to $3,550.41 per ounce, nearing its all-time high of $3,578.50 reached Wednesday, with a 3.2% weekly gain — the highest since mid-June.

Other precious metals also advanced: silver rose 0.1% to $40.70, platinum gained 1.1% to $1,382.18, and palladium edged up 0.1% to $1,129.12.
