A senior Hezbollah official, Mahmoud Qomati, said Saturday the group views the Lebanese Cabinet session on the army’s plan to restrict arms to the state as an opportunity to return to wisdom and prevent the country from sliding into the unknown.

On Friday, the Cabinet welcomed the army’s plan to disarm Hezbollah, saying the army would begin implementing it without setting a timeframe, while noting the army’s limited capacity. Qomati added that continued Israeli military operations in Lebanon would obstruct the army’s progress. (Reuters)
