The Council of Ministers, in its session held today, Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, approved the financial contribution system in support of political parties for the year 2023 AD.
The system aims to enable political parties licensed in accordance with the provisions of the law to play their role on the basis of citizenship, equality, and commitment to democracy and political pluralism, by providing a financial contribution to the parties from the funds of the public treasury.
The system aims to ensure the active participation of parties in public political life, and to participate in elections through their financial contribution. To reach the House of Representatives whose pillars are the effective partisan parliamentary blocs, in addition to strengthening the political role of women, youth and persons with disabilities in the general party life.
Under the system, the amount of the financial contribution provided to the parties is determined by specific amounts in accordance with international standards and practices related to the representation and presence of the political party based on the general elections.
According to the system, the party is paid a financial contribution of five thousand dinars every four years. To cover the expenses of its general conference, and ten thousand dinars in the event of a merger of two political parties in accordance with the provisions of the law, and five thousand dinars for each party that enters into the merger, for one time only, provided that the party resulting from the merger continues to receive the financial contribution that the merging parties used to receive until such time as Conducting post-merger elections.
The party is also entitled to a financial contribution of thirty thousand dinars if it achieves a rate equivalent to (50%) or more than the percentage (threshold) stipulated in the election law for the House of Representatives from the number of votes cast in the general electoral district, and ten thousand dinars for each seat it wins, and (20%) of this amount for each winner of the categories of women and youth between the ages of (25-35) years, and persons with disabilities.
The party is also entitled to three thousand dinars for each seat of the elected members won by one of the party’s candidates for membership in the Municipal Council, the Greater Amman Municipality Council, or the Governorate Council, with a limit not exceeding thirty thousand dinars.
Thirty thousand dinars will also be paid to the party alliance in the event that it obtains a percentage equal to (50%) or more than the percentage of the decision (threshold) stipulated in the election law for the House of Representatives from the number of votes cast in the general electoral district, and ten thousand dinars for each seat won by the coalition. The amount due shall be divided equally among the allied parties.
The system will be published in the Official Gazette after the issuance of the Royal Decree approving it.

The draft law clarifies how to calculate the income derived from the exploitation of intellectual property assets and the conditions for benefiting from tax exemptions in the Aqaba Economic Zone in this regard, and clarifies the mechanism for calculating the income derived from the zone as a result of the sale of goods or the performance of services, and in accordance with the recent amendments to the law of the Aqaba Economic Zone. own.
On the other hand, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the establishment of a private free zone in the Azraq region. For the purposes of storing and maintaining machinery and equipment for oil and mineral resources drilling companies.
The decision included appointing the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as the main developer of the region, provided that the ministry provides the General Customs Department with tables showing the numbers and specifications of the machinery and equipment that will fall within the jurisdiction of this region. This is to enable the department to apply the necessary customs procedures to it in accordance with the legislation in force and according to the rules.
The Council of Ministers approved the recommendations of the Committee for the Settlement of Outstanding Issues between Taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department, to settle the tax statuses of (239) companies and taxpayers, who had obligations in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law.
It also approved the recommendations of the Committee for Reviewing Outstanding Claims between Taxpayers and/or Violators, and the Jordanian Customs Department, to settle (19) cases of taxpayers and violators, provided that they commit to paying the full amounts remaining on them along with any fees, taxes or expenses within a period of two months from the date of issuance of this document. the decision.
