The US embassy in Qatar issued a statement Tuesday saying it had received reports of rocket attacks in Doha and instructed American citizens to remain in place and follow its official account on X.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that US President Donald Trump gave the green light for the operation targeting Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital. Reuters quoted an Israeli official as saying Washington was notified in advance of the strike.

Israeli media said Hamas Gaza chief Khalil al-Hayya was among those attending the meeting hit in Doha.
