Amman – At the invitation of the Jordan Tourism Board, a delegation from South Korea’s Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) recently concluded an official visit to Jordan, which included an extensive tour of major religious, historical, and natural sites. The initiative aims to enhance Jordan’s global image as a leading destination for religious and cultural tourism.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Imad Hijazin said the visit represents a qualitative step toward solidifying Jordan’s position on the global map of religious tourism, highlighting the country’s unique spiritual heritage as a key station for Christian pilgrimage and seekers of authenticity and spirituality. He noted ongoing efforts with international partners to promote Jordan as a land balancing history with modernity, and spirituality with openness to the world.

Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, emphasized that the FEBC visit reflects international media confidence in Jordan’s tourism standing. He said the Board had prepared a comprehensive program allowing the delegation to fully experience Jordan’s tourism offerings, adding that the visit will open broad media channels with South Korea and the world, encouraging more Christian pilgrimage and cultural tourism to Jordan.

The delegation was led by FEBC’s representative in South Korea, Rev. John Kim, accompanied by a specialized media team from the network—one of the world’s leading Christian media platforms, broadcasting across continents with messages of peace and faith.

The visit featured tours of more than 16 religious, historical, and natural sites, including Mount Nebo, the Church of the Map, Petra, Wadi Rum, Bethany Beyond the Jordan (Baptism Site), Madaba, Machaerus Castle, Tell Mar Elias, Ajloun cable car, and the Shrine of Our Lady of the Mountain in Anjara. The group also met with local clergy, documented spiritual experiences, and participated in the renewal of baptismal vows for two members at the Baptism Site, in a highly symbolic moment.

Carefully designed by the Jordan Tourism Board, the program offered an integrated experience combining spirituality, culture, and unique tourism. It included extensive media coverage, recorded faith-based commentary from Rev. Kim, interactive activities, and spiritual rituals, ensuring the production of rich media content to reach millions of viewers in South Korea and globally.

The visit comes as part of Jordan’s efforts to strengthen its position as a hub for Christian pilgrimage and cultural tourism, while promoting the Kingdom as a land of peace and coexistence. Initial agreements were reached to hold a series of awareness seminars and joint media programs with FEBC, along with future workshops connecting Jordan’s tourism leaders with their South Korean counterparts to support pilgrimage flows and enhance cultural-media cooperation.

Founded in 1945 in South Korea, FEBC is one of the world’s most influential Christian media organizations, broadcasting through radio, television, and digital platforms to millions across Asia and beyond. The network plays a key role in spreading messages of peace and faith while fostering cultural and religious exchange worldwide.
