King Abdullah II and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad held talks at Basman Palace Wednesday, stressing pride in historic ties between the two countries and peoples.

The two leaders affirmed commitment to expand cooperation, particularly in economic and investment fields, and to maintain close coordination in serving mutual interests and Arab causes.

Talks also covered regional developments. The King condemned Israel’s expanded ground offensive on Gaza aimed at displacing Palestinians.
