The Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board, held a joint workshop in Cairo with participation from leading hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, and airlines from both countries.
The Jordanian delegation was led by Dr. Abdul-Razzaq Arabiat, Director-General of the Jordan Tourism Board, alongside Eng. Yazan Mahadin from Petra Development and Tourism Authority and representatives from Aqaba Special Economic Zone and Royal Jordanian Airlines. The Egyptian side was represented by Eng. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, who welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral tourism cooperation to meet growing global demand.
On the sidelines, Arabiat met with Egyptian airline representatives to discuss boosting air connectivity between Amman, Aqaba, and Cairo, and exploring new routes to support joint tourism programs.
Arabiat said the workshop aims to translate government agreements into actionable marketing programs targeting new markets, positioning Jordan and Egypt as a combined tourist destination rich in cultural and heritage experiences. He added that the collaboration is a long-term strategic partnership to expand regional tourism and attract international visitors through joint marketing campaigns.
The workshop also focused on promoting Jordan–Egypt tourism packages, opening new markets in the Americas and East Asia, launching the “Shared Christian Trail” connecting religious sites in both countries, and enhancing short-break tourism programs. The event concluded with plans to hold further joint workshops in Cairo and Amman next year to strengthen promotional efforts and maximize the tourism potential of both nations.
