Yesterday, the parliament session witnessed the transfer of 4 questions to interpellations, as MPs Fawaz Al-Zoubi and Ali Al-Tarawneh turned their question to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs about appointments in the ministry for interpellation, while MP Khaled Abu Hassan turned his question to the Minister of Water about a water project in Irbid for interrogation, as did MP Suleiman Abu Yahya questioned the Minister of Awqaf about the role of memorizing the Qur’an for interrogation.
This came in an oversight session held by the Council, chaired by its Speaker, Ahmed Al-Safadi, and in the presence of Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh and the government team, in which a draft law was approved to ratify a loan facilitation agreement between the Kingdom and Canada.
In detail, Representative Fawaz Al-Zoubi asked his question to the Minister of Foreign Affairs about appointments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for interrogation, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi responded to the question by affirming that the appointments “were made with high transparency,” challenging that there would be any appointment outside the framework of transparency, stressing that he would inform the deputies. on appointments.
Al-Safadi protested by saying: “It is not permissible, if no one succeeds and is not appointed, to say that there are intermediaries, that appointments are made without transparency, and that the ministry applies law and order regarding appointments and promotions in the ministry, and work in the diplomatic service requires competencies and capabilities, and the examination process takes place to appoint more than 20 Jordanians and their names are there,” stressing that many of those who took this exam and were not appointed have acquaintances and relatives in positions of responsibility in the state.
Representative Ali Al-Tarawneh also turned his question to the Minister of Foreign Affairs about amending the diplomatic corps system into an interpellation, as he was not convinced of the answer.
In response to the intervention of Representative Tarawneh, in which he touched on the issue of medical exemptions and the student support fund, Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh affirmed that the government seeks to avoid restrictions on the citizen and takes into account his interest, stressing that his government takes into account the interest of the citizen “and receives with its chest from our citizen, our country and our leadership, and it is better that We do not find it easy to label each other by harassing the citizen, and this is a defect in our right as a government, and at the moment when we will seek to harass the citizen, we have to go.”
Regarding medical exemptions, he said that a mechanism for treatments has been reached, indicating that the old mechanism has moved out of the framework of exemptions to another framework, pointing out that “thousands of exemptions have gone to those who are not eligible,” noting that it was agreed with the Presidency of the House of Representatives on a mechanism for exemptions that makes Whoever benefits from it is truly deserving of it.
Regarding the student support fund, the prime minister stated that the government did not make any amendments to the regulations and laws related to the fund, and allocated an additional 12.5 million baht for the fund this year, indicating that the fund’s coverage of beneficiaries reached 100% last year.
On the question of one of the representatives about the diplomatic corps, Al-Khasawneh said, “The diplomatic corps system is the one that governs appointments of employees in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that the system has made amendments to it as it is done to any other system, and the government does not accept paying prices, neither secretly nor publicly, to approve legislative mechanisms, and we distance ourselves It is within the framework of our constitutional responsibilities, and within the framework of our family upbringing, as we belong to decent families.”
For his part, Representative Khaled Abu Hassan turned his question to the Minister of Water and Irrigation about a water tender in the city of Irbid into an interrogation, expressing his lack of conviction in the minister's response. Representative Suleiman Abu Yahya also turned his question directed to the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites about the role of memorizing the Qur'an into an interrogation, while he said The Minister of Endowments said, “My duty is to prevent anyone who does not have a legal qualification from ascending the pulpit and giving a sermon to people, and the country has 2,100 Quranic centers that the ministry spends on.
He noted that "it is not permissible for some to be satisfied with removing their children from regular schools and enrolling them only in the role of teaching the Qur'an."
Representative Rahaq Al-Zawahra was satisfied with the government’s response to her question, while Representative Zaid Al-Atoum discussed his question to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources about the mechanism for calculating energy prices, and Representative Ali Salem Al-Khalayleh discussed his question to the Minister of Finance and Mayor of Greater Amman about tax estimates.
In this regard, the Acting Director General of the Department of Lands and Survey, Hossam Abu Ali, said that “there are distortions in the administrative value of lands, and that the government has worked to a legislative framework to address this distortion and imbalance, and that adopting the administrative value as a basis involves transparency and cancels the discretionary authority for the value of lands.”
